We often advise against using certain fabrics for particular applications. One such inadvisable choice is using silk sheers for...well pretty much anything. I was once asked by a customer how long I thought a piece would last if it was not protected from the sun. I couldn't answer. I've seen cotton destroyed in a single year, who knows how much light and what intensity it will be. Either way here are a few pictures that should hopefully convince you.
